Coach Jenna Wilkins is finishing up her 12th year of teaching and coaching high school cheer as a head coach.
She came to Marcus from a thriving High School Cheer program in Mount Vernon ISD, where she served as Head Cheer Coach for ten years.
Before teaching, she was a USA gymnastics coach, all-star cheer coach, and power tumbling coach from 2005-2011. Wilkins has also been a competition cheerleading judge since 2007, judging some of the most prestigious all-star cheer events nationwide and internationally.
Wilkins graduated from Texas A&M in 2009 with a degree in psychology/neuroscience.
She has taught secondary science since 2011 and was the 2018 MVISD Teacher of the Year. During her time as head coach at Mount Vernon, Wilkins led the Cheer Program to three consecutive UIL State Championships in 2016, 2017, and 2018, as well as state runner-up finishes in 2019 and 2022.
In 2022, Jenna Wilkins was named the UIL 1-4A Cheerleading Coach of the Year. She is also a two-time UIL all-star coach, selected to choreograph and coach the top cheerleaders selected to perform at the summer UIL/TGCA all-star games.
In 2023, She led Marcus HS to their first NCA National Champion title.
In addition to her success in building one of the top programs at the state and national championship level, Wilkins has served as a choreographer and coach for Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for the past 7 years. Her choreography has been featured on NBC and ESPN. She choreographs game day routines for teams all over the nation.
Coach Wilkins travels internationally frequently to pursue her passion for teaching English to medical students overseas.
